Did you know this about the IW Knights of Columbus?
As many of you know our Lenten Fish Fry event is back in full operation. The IWKnights appreciate your business – you have helped bring our Dine-in, Carry-out and On-line service back to pre-COVID levels. We thank you for your support so far and hope you will join us at the last two Fries (4/1 and 4/8). Due to the current volatile environment of food costs & supply chain issues, we anticipated our prices might fluctuate and menu items may rotate off/on the menu throughout the season – but in fact prices have been steady and provisions are generally available.
The primary mission of the IW Knights is charitable giving. One of the major recipients of our charity, during our Fish Fry season, is the Missionaries of Charities. This organization was founded by St. Mother Theresa and her mission of feeding the hungry continues. Their kitchen is located approximately one mile north of the Fox Theater in a very low-income part of the City of St. Louis. The six sisters who live in their local convent, along with a cadre of volunteers, feed more than 200 people - from the nearby neighborhoods - several meals a day on a weekly basis. We help the sisters’ effort by delivering all the prepared but unsold food during the Fish Fry season (and many other of our events throughout the year). Our cost averages approximately $1,000 per Fry.
We ask you to consider helping us feed the hungry at the Missionaries of Charities by donating to our Charitable Giving Fund with a “Match of the Cost of your Dinner” donation or whatever amount you are comfortable in donating (you can make the donate at our cashier station). We thank you for any donation! If you cannot attend a Fish Fry but still want to donate, please drop your donation at the parish office or in the KofC donation box on the wall next to our Media Rack in the south church vestibule.
