Developmental Disabilities (DD) Drive

Thank you for making the DD Drive 2023 a Success

Thank you to all the volunteer knights (and for the married, to your wives for letting you go) who helped with this year’s DD drive.

The last weekend collection added $2373 to our first weekend total. From what has been tabulated to date, it appears our total donations are going to be at least $14,500 to $15,000, which is slightly more than we collected in 2022 (before the large donation from the Gamma Memorial Golf Tournament). We will have a final figure by Thanksgiving after all the deposits and online donations are accounted for.

The year’s DD Drive is not over – we will continue accepting donations using Square and Venmo into November. There are about 50 of the 2023 DD Drive postcards with a tootsie roll stuck on each card. These cards will be available for anyone who has a business or knows a business that would display and give the cards freely to customers in the rest of October or November. We have more cards if anyone has a place to use them (else we’ll save them for next year).

This year’s drive was challenging, we tried some new ideas for fundraising, much of that didn’t materialize. But we had 2 weekends at Schnucks, increased Square donations to over $500 and our first year using Venmo over $100 in mobile app donations.

I especially appreciate Treasure Jerry Follis for getting Venmo setup with the bank and all the help making deposits. Thanks to Bryan Hewing and Ron Reuther helping me with graphics and publicity. Thanks to Chris Williams setting up the volunteer spreadsheet.

Thank you for your patience and hard work.

Thanks be to God.
