Yesterday evening (August 13, 2024), we were notified of the passing of our fellow IWKnight Fr. James Sullivan. He had served as the council Chaplain for several years for our council, served as the Senior Associate Pastor and Retired Priest in Residence at Incarnate Word Parish from 2005 to 2022 and was very active in our council.
He also attended a first Friday gathering of IWKnights and others for Breakfast known as the Rectangle of Wisdom.
Here are the funeral arrangements for Fr. Sullivan:
- The funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10:00 am at Incarnate Word Parish in Chesterfield.
- Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00am in the church and the IWKnights will most likely be praying the rosary at 9:30 in the church, just before Mass.
Father Sullivan was a long time member of the Webster Groves Nature Study Society and author of the book Insects and their Plants, Observations of Missouri Insects and the Plants They Live On. the Book is available on Amazon.
Fr. Sullivan's body will be cremated after the funeral and buried in the Priest’s Section at Resurrection Cemetery.
