As of 5:00am today, Pope Francis has appointed Bishop Robert Barron, the founder of Word Fire Ministries as the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, Minnesota. From the USCCB:
WASHINGTON - Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Bishop John M. Quinn, 76, from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, and has appointed Bishop Robert E. Barron, auxiliary bishop of Los Angeles, as his successor.
The resignation and appointment were publicized in Washington, D.C. on June 2, 2022, by Archbishop Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States.
The Diocese of Winona-Rochester is comprised of 12,282 square miles in the State of Minnesota and has a total population of 597,801 of which 134,027 are Catholic.

Many of us have seen his videos or read his various pieces of literature over the years. Normally, the IWKnights don't post bishop appointments very often, but this one is VERY noteworthy as he is so well known to the IWKnights and Catholics across St. Louis and the nation.
